The Seat of Tranquility is the founding piece of the Horizon Collection — a meditation stool of quiet authority, handcrafted from sustainably sourced Japanese Red Pine (Akamatsu | Pinus densiflora) and finished using the ancient Japanese art of Shou Sugi Ban (Yakisugi).

Each piece is charred by hand, then worked with traditional Japanese inks to draw out and enrich the natural depth and grain of the timber. The result is a surface of extraordinary richness — dark, warm, and alive with the character of the wood beneath.

No two pieces are identical. The grain, the char, the ink — all respond differently to each piece of timber. This is not a flaw. It is the essence of Wabi Sabi (侘寂): the beauty found in imperfection, impermanence, and the marks left by making.

Finished with natural wax protection and built to age with grace, the Seat of Tranquility is intended to become a future heirloom — a place to return to, day after day.
